Directions to Shrine Mountain Inn
Shrine Mountain Inn is located 2.5 miles from Interstate 70, Vail Pass by road (Forest Service road 712), and 2.7 miles by trail. Vehicle and bicycle access to Shrine Mountain Inn is possible via Shrine Pass Road in July, August, September, and most of October. Hiking, skiing, and snowshoe access is also available year round from the Vail Pass Rest Area via trail. Click for a map.

Winter Access
- Trailhead: Fowler-Hilliard Hut. Elevation 11,500 feet. Route: Via Shrine Ridge. Total distance 6.8 miles.
- Trailhead: Redcliff. Elevation 8,680 feet. Route: Via Shrine Pass Road. Total distance 9.3 miles.
- Trailhead: Vail. Elevation 8,220 feet. Route: Via the Commando Run. Total distance 15.9 miles.
Summer Access
- Trailhead: Redcliff. Elevation 8,680 feet. Route: Via F.S. road 709, F.S. road 712 to the huts. Total distance 9.3 miles.
- Trailhead: Fowler-Hilliard Hut. Elevation 11,500 feet. Route: Via F.S. road 751, F.S. road 702, F.S. road 714, F.S. road 708, F.S. road 709, F.S. road 712 to the huts. Total distance 25.2 miles.
- Trailhead: Fowler-Hilliard Hut. Elevation 11,500 feet. Route: Via F.S. road 751, F.S. road 702, F.S. road 747, F.S. road 709, F.S. road 712 to the huts. Total distance 12.2 miles.
